More about Jesse...

Jesse Combs is a 6th generation Northern Nevadan who is thrilled to have brought his family back to Reno four years ago after more than twenty-five years in the SF Bay Area followed by seven in the Northwest. His passion for the area is well known, with the Truckee River and Lake Tahoe holding special places in his heart. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, Jesse began his career as a researcher on the Human Genome Project, and went on to work in various biotech and pharmaceutical companies over the following decade.  It was during this period that he was exposed, in a profound and lasting way, to the discipline of project management.

Jesse’s interest in and aptitude for leading dynamic, project-focused teams became apparent at that time, and he eventually transitioned to supporting his fellow researchers as their informatics program manager overseeing maintenance of databases and the development of data analysis applications.  He quickly recognized how risky and complicated the software development process can be and began, for the first time to leverage formal project management processes to help ensure success.

Today, Jesse is an exceptionally versatile, organized and skilled project and program leader/consultant with over 15 years’ experience in a diverse array of industries including: pharmaceutical, chemical, footwear, healthcare, real estate and high technology. He’s been routinely identified as one of the best project management professionals in each of these environments, which he believes is due in large part to the extraordinary level of accountability taken for each team’s ultimate success as well as the expertise, tools and knowledge brought to each effort. In addition, he reliably builds and maintains strong teams primarily by ensuring a professional, organized and secure environment in which people can predictably and sustainably execute the work of the project.
